In a bittersweet announcement for fans of The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace (Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi), the eighth volume of the manga has unveiled that the series will reach its conclusion with the upcoming ninth volume. Anticipated to hit shelves in the fall or winter of 2024, this final installment promises to bring closure to the captivating narrative penned by Amahara and Coolkyoushinja.

Published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment, The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace unfolds in a world where powerful Idaten deities had sealed away demons that once tormented humanity eight centuries ago. For the current generation of deities, including the irreverent Hayato, this historical tale seems more like a myth. With an abundance of free time on their hands, these new-age deities find themselves overseeing humans in an era of tranquility. However, when the ancient seal binding the demons begins to unravel, Hayato and his eccentric comrades must step up to the plate and save humanity. Can these inexperienced gods, unfamiliar with the art of war, rise to the occasion, or will the threat of demons in a chaotic mortal world prove insurmountable?

Coolkyoushinja initiated the manga in Young Animal back in August 2018, offering a remake of Amahara's earlier online manga of the same name. The seventh compiled volume, released on February 28, will precede the much-anticipated final volume.

Seven Seas Entertainment has been faithfully bringing the English version of the manga to fans, describing the series as an 800-year-old tale of deities dealing with the resurgence of demonic forces. With the fifth volume already published on August 1 and the sixth volume scheduled for release on May 21, readers can follow the story's progression leading up to its climactic conclusion.

Amahara's initial version of the manga had a different journey, beginning with serialization on the Neetsha website and abruptly halting in May 2016.

The manga's popularity extended beyond the pages of the manga itself, inspiring an anime adaptation that premiered on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block in July 2021. Crunchyroll ensured global accessibility by streaming the anime as it aired in Japan.

As fans prepare to bid farewell to The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace, the impending ninth volume promises to deliver a conclusion that will resonate with enthusiasts of this epic tale. Stay tuned for the fall or winter of 2024, when the final volume will hit shelves, bringing an end to this extraordinary saga of gods, demons, and the peace they sought to protect.
